2BU Studios is excited to offer multimedia "mini camps" for kids that are both educational and fun. Each camp offers a learning opportunity to create a video, audio recording, drawing, or writing piece in one of our studios. |
Here is the Scoop: * Each camp is 3 hours in length * The introductory price for each camp is $40.00 per session * Each camp is taught by a certified teacher * Each camp requires a minimum of 5 students * Each camp has a capacity of 20 students 2BU Studios has the right to cancel any camp that does not meet the minimum participation requirements or for any other reason. 1. ZOMBIE INVASION: Create your own Zombie movie
Do you love old Zombie movies? Here’s your chance to star in one! In this workshop, we will explore the Zombie movie genre, write a script, try out Zombie makeup, and star in a Zombie film! Get ready to get creepy!
2. THE MUSIC IN YOU: Writing your own song parody
If you are a singer or songwriter, this is the class for you! Students will work in our state-of-the-art recording studio to “lay down tracks”. We will have a blast working together to write song parodies and produce music with handmade recycled instruments.
3. BE ON TV!: COMMERCIALS: Create your own TV commercial
Have you ever wanted to be on TV? Do you love the commercials you see on TV each night? In this workshop, you can learn how to write and produce a commercial for your own crazy product. You will even experience working in a professional film studio!
4. DIARY OF A…writer!: Create your own fun and exciting story
If you loved Diary of a Wimpy Kid or Diary of a Worm, join us in writing your own books just like the originals. Learn the techniques of writing in the diary genre and share your work with your friends.
5. CREATIVE WRITING: WRITING WITH ATTITUDE: Have fun writing your story
It’s time to let your creative energy flow! In this workshop, students will use award-winning literature to inspire their own creative stories. We will experience a number of ways to make a book, have the opportunity to share our work, and collaborate on a finished piece.
6. YOU2.0: THE SOCIAL MEDIA EXPERIMENT: Record your own podcast
YOU2.0 will allow you to experience the high-tech internet world safely while having fun with your friends. We will learn podcasting, a technique for internet audio broadcasting and how to write a podcast for content on the web.
7. SPORTSCASTER CAMP: Create your own sportscast recording
If you are a sports fan, this is the workshop for you! Learn how to write and present your own sports talk show and produce a sportscast for real video footage!
8. CRASH & SQUEAK: WHEN SOUNDS TELL STORIES: Create your own story recording
Before TV and YouTube came Radio. In this workshop, students will learn a brief history of radio drama, hear stories like War of the Worlds and Who’s On First?, learn how to generate live sound effects, and write and produce their own short radio script in our high-tech recording studio.
9. TELL YOUR STORY: DIGITAL STORYTELLING: Create your own digital story
If you are an avid storyteller or writer and ready to take your work to the next level, this class is for you! Come with a story in mind, or some family pictures to share with the class and we will turn them in to a digital story with your own photos and audio. We will learn the structure of a good story, write a script, and edit our work into a finished piece.
10. CHOOSE YOUR OWN ADVENTURE: Write your own choose your adventure story
You are the author…learn how to take your reader through a maze of possibilities to make his or her own story. As a class, we will experience the world of this popular book series and collaboratively write multiple forks and endings into the story. In this genre of interactive fiction, the outcome will always be different!
11. BE ON TV!: SITCOMS: Record your own TV Sitcom
Have you ever wanted to be on TV? Do you love evening sitcoms and comedies? In this workshop, you can learn how to write and produce a short sitcom for your own crazy story! You will even experience working in a professional film studio!
12. STAR IN YOUR OWN WEBCAST: Record your own webcast
It’s time to give iCarly a run for her money! Your own webcast will allow you to experience the high-tech internet world safely while having fun with your friends. We will learn video blogging (or v-logging), and other techniques for producing your own webcast talk show!
13. YOUR LIFE IN COMICS: Create your own comic book staring you
Ever wish you had special powers to defeat your enemies? In “Your Life in Comics” you are the superhero! You will learn how to write, edit, and animate a finished comic book starring you! (And of course those pesky villains!)
14. POETRY PIZAZZ: Write your own poems with style
If you are a poet at heart, come with your journal in hand and share your work with us. We will learn lots of new forms of poetry and share your work during our poetry coffeehouse session!
15. M IS FOR MYSTERY: DETECTIVE STORIES: Write your own mystery story
Make yourself the sleuth in this fun workshop! We will learn the background and basic techniques for writing in the mystery/suspense genre and share our work with others.
